A pair of shams which would have been part of the back cushions of a couch with Primavera Green velvet fabric designed by Jack Lenore Larson and Don Wight. The fabric was printed by Taunus Textildruck Zimmer. The print design is from 1959 and hand screen printed on silk velvet. Each sham has a zipper.
This design was inspired by the paintings of Gustav Klimt and was in development more than a year. This particular pattern and low pile velvet type textile was the first of it's type due to a special technical adjustment made at the Larson studio. It was one of the most popular patterns of its day and remains an icon of design in the textile print industry.
